Café Supervisor

Location: Shepherd’s Baa, Lynford

Hours:  27 hours per week (flexible to include weekdays + weekends)

Salary:  Competitive plus enhanced weekend pay

Start date:  Mid/End January 2026

 

Are you a friendly, reliable and hands-on person with a passion for great customer service and teamwork? Shepherds Baa, Lynford is looking for a Café Supervisor to join their friendly team.

About the role

As Café Supervisor, you’ll support the daily running of the café, working closely with the Manager to ensure our customers enjoy a warm welcome and a high-quality experience. You’ll assist both front of house and in the kitchen, helping with food preparation, serving customers, and maintaining our excellent standards of cleanliness.

You will also deputise in the Manager’s absence, taking responsibility for staff supervision, stock ordering, opening and closing procedures, and ensuring smooth service throughout the day.

 

Responsibilities

• Support café operations both front of house and in the kitchen

• Provide excellent customer service and lead by example

• Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the café

• Order and manage stock as required

• Supervise and support team members during shifts

• Deputise for the Manager during absence

• Be flexible and available to work weekends and weekdays

• Be able to cover shifts at short notice when needed

• Understand relevant health and safety legislation and its implications for the business, taking appropriate action and ensuring all staff follow required procedures

• Contribute to developing new business ideas to enhance the café’s offering and efficiency

 

Requirements

• Previous experience in a café, hospitality, or supervisory role desirable

• Confident working both front of house and in a kitchen environment

• Organised, dependable, and flexible with working hours

• Excellent communication and team leadership skills

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high standards of cleanliness

• Knowledge of food safety and health & safety procedures

• Creative and proactive, with an interest in contributing new ideas to improve the business

• Able to remain calm and positive in a busy environment
